PART 2.a - In Character Non-WH13/Eureka Canon Characters (Skip/delete if not applicable)
Full Name: Felicity Megan Smoak
Nicknames: Overwatch, Lissa (but only if you don't want a very angry blonde)
DOB/Age: May 5th 1989
Birthplace: Las Vegas Nevada
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Hetrosexual
Species: Human
Fandom: Arrow
Journal:
remarkibleit
PB: Emily Bett Rickards
Holoprojection Human Interface PB: N/a
Canon Point:4x15- Just as she is walking away from Oliver
Appearance: Felicity is blonde, but not that blonde. In actuality, she comes from a goth phase. She had long dark hair and severe makeup. That was the old Felicity, the new Felicity is a perky blonde, who more often than not can be found with her hair up in her signature ponytail, high heels, and a brightly colored fashion forward dress. That would be considered work attire, but it is the style of dress she is most comfortable in.
History:We don't know that much about Felicity Smoak, until the second season of Arrow, but before that Felicity was a take charge and scene-stealing character. Oliver trusts Felicity from the get-go, as evidenced by the fact that he keeps going to her over and over again. His excuses lack imagination, Felicity saw right through them but helped him because that is just the way she is.
Felicity was born in Vegas to Noah Cutler and Donna Smoak, a cocktail waitress who worked sixty hours in six-inch heels making tips be able to take care of her precious daughter. Felicity didn't want to end up like her mother, so instead she turned into a Goth hacktivist at MIT. That worked for a little while until her then boyfriend decided to jump the shark and delete all of the student loans on campus. Felicity tried to stop him, but failed, and after he had confessed he killed himself rather than go to jail. It was then that Felicity changed her image and was bound and determined to be new and improved. She got a job at Queen Consolidated, in their IT department, working with Robert and then eventually Oliver.
Oliver Queen is the type of man that woman easily fall for, and Felicity was no exception as if her life wasn't complicated enough. Falling in love with her playboy boss was not on her to do list. She followed him to hell and back, helped him forge a road from being a Vigilante to being an honest to God hero. Despite Oliver's stubborn nature, she hangs in there and stands at his side.
It seemed that everything was coming together for Felicity. Oliver, who she had been in love with since the day he walked into her office, had asked her out. Of course, nothing could be that simple, and their night job interfered with her personal life, causing Oliver to push her away for her good. She turned to Ray Palmer, who treated her like a queen and made her Vice President of Palmer Technologies. She was tired of Oliver always deciding he knew what was best for her, which seemed to be a running theme, so she pushed him away, choosing to be with Ray. There was just one problem with that, and that was the fact that she was still in love with Oliver. She followed him to Nanda Parbat, in an attempt to save him, but in the end, she lost him, but not before confessing her love and sleeping with him. In the end, it turned out to be some elaborate plan concocted by Oliver to defeat Ra’s; she ended up saving him, though, courtesy of Ray’s Atom suit. Oliver chose her, and they left Star City, happy.
They returned months later, actually together, or so Felicity thought. She didn’t know that Oliver was keeping a huge secret from her…. he had a son. Felicity could, however, tell that something was off, and she gave him multiple chances to “come clean” as they fought Damien Dahrk. She ran Palmer Tech, which she renamed Smoak Technologies, with efficacy. Darhk, wanting to get back at Oliver, took shots at them after they got engaged, almost fatally wounding the IT girl. As it was, the bullet took away the use of her legs. Oliver stuck with her through all of that, her friends both in Star and Central City made accommodations for her disability. She recovered the best she could, focusing on making Curtis’ inventions a success and even taking one of them into her body, in the hopes that she would be able to walk down the aisle.
That is precisely when her life derailed, because she found out Oliver’s big secret, and deciding she had enough of the so-called protection that Oliver offered. She decided that he didn’t know how to let her in, so she gave back his mother’s engagement ring and walked away from him. That is where we find her coming into the Warehouse. She is broken but walking thanks to Curtis’ device.
Previous Game History, IF APPLICABLE: N/a
Personality: If you looked up the word nerd in the dictionary, you would most likely find a picture of Felicity Smoak. She takes the term nerd and takes it to a crazy awesome sexy level. Felicity is a very put together woman on the surface. She dressed to the nine's, and hair is not usually out of place (unless of course there is a building falling around her).
She is a bit socially awkward, which may or may the understatement of the century. It seems like she reserves her social faux pau's for ridiculously hot men, like Oliver Queen, Ray Palmer, or Barry Allen, or woman in positions of authority like Moira Queen. Her babble is the way she deals with nerves and highly stressful situations, and it more often than not has a sexual connotation. Most people that know the blonde well know how to redirect her with a look, or a roll of their eyes. Please don't let the babble fool you, however, she knows how to speak her mind when she needs to and is not afraid of standing up for what Felicity believes in, even if it is the mighty Moira Queen, especially if Felicity knows she is right.
Felicity is excellent at using her nervous, awkward little habit to calm the team down when tensions rise too high. She thought that the ground should swallow her up, but it focuses the team and shows them that she is an asset, far greater than she believes.
In fact, she is Team Arrow's real trump card. She comes off as unassuming, weak and useable, but she is the exact opposite. She is the ace in the hole. The babbling, flighty way she has of talking allows people to let their guards down and lets her get close enough to take you down. A prime example is Slade Wilson, who underestimated her resourcefulness. She let him get close enough to her so she could give him the cure allowing Oliver to level the playing field.
She has got more going for her than just her good looks and brains. She is the heart of Team Arrow, and it's moral compass. It is a role that Felicity takes very seriously. She is kind, compassionate, and has a huge heart. She is full of trust but doesn't give it away blindly. She is strong enough to trust you but also go toe to toe with you if she needs to. Oliver in some way must have been able to tell that, because he let her in on his secret, going to Felicity when he got shot. Felicity was the missing ingredient in Team Arrow, bring her empathic nature and quick wits to the team filling in their missing puzzle piece.
Felicity isn't some naive girl either; she knows all about the harsh realities of life. Despite that, however, she has still kept her gentle nature, which is why she was hesitant to join team arrow to begin with. She did not approve of the Hood's harsher methods of interrogation. She has said on more than one occasion that she doesn't like sharp pointy things, and they shouldn't be stuck in people just because the answers given weren't the expected ones.
She handles herself well in high-risk situations. She is adept at going undercover, having infiltrated a casino, Merlyn Global as a delivery girl, and she drew out the Dollmaker. That wasn't one of her most ingenious plans since she got hurt, but she got the job done. Her method of warfare is more mental than physical; she only can handle about five sit-ups in the morning honestly.
She is the genius of the group, make no mistake about that. She is ambitious and a tough worker. She is not one to let something go until she figures out what makes it tick so to speak, determined to do whatever she sets her mind to. She does not want to end up like her mother, so that is always in the back of her mind pushing her forward.
Felicity is patient, indulgent and willing to let things ride out, especially when it comes to Oliver Queen. She doesn't question anything that he asks of her, trusting him to do the right thing. That is a strength, but also a weakness when it comes to her relationship with Oliver. That trust in Oliver is what eventually allows him to break her heart into a million pieces.
Felicity is a strong woman, never one to back down, which is why she jumped at the change to do super secret vigilante work in the first place. She loves a good mystery and Oliver a way for her to prove she could be more than an IT girl on the 15th floor. She grew in her time working with team Arrow and was able to give herself some perspective, and stand up to Oliver leading to their broken engagement.
She may be highly intelligent, and self-motivated, but Felicity also harbors insecurities and an inferiority complex, especially when it comes to Laurel and Sara Lance. Sara could do things that Felicity could only dream about, or have nightmares about depending on your point of view. When she came into the fold, Felicity began to feel insignificant, and it lead her to be somewhat daring, and brave. She saved a life, by throwing her body into the line of fire. She was proud that she got shot. She is and will always be her toughest critic, and she is very hard on herself when she fails at something.

2. Third Person Writing Sample: Here Here
3. First or Third person Sample: [The device clicks on to show a profile of Felicity, but it is not the Felicity that people who know her are used to seeing. Her hair is down around her shoulders, and said shoulders are slumped. There are tears falling from her eyes, and she is sitting in the far corner of the arrival room]
I'm sure there is some snappy comeback right? This is some elaborate plan, and I am going to blink, and Oliver will be sitting by the bed, and the last few months will have been a dream.
I wish. There should be something I can do to fix this mess he made right? That's the problem though isn't it. He's so self-confident that he thinks he is infallible to everything bad that happens.
[She stands and begins to pace a little] Walking is new? And also a very, very good thing. Curtis, if you're out there. You did it. You alone revolutionalized the way of life for paraplegics. I'd like to think that I had a small part in helping you, but I don't seem to be helping much of anyone these days.
Maybe my being here is a good thing. Much better than Nada Parapet gotta say.... I like the upgrade. [Her eyes are still sad, but there is a more determined set to her shoulders.]
I've got this. Look out world.... you are about to be Smoaked. Yes, that can totally be a thing.
